Haiti Relief - We Will Donate $1 for Every Comment

My husband and I have been considering how we can help those in Haiti. We would like to be able to go and help with the relief effort but we cannot at this time - perhaps we will have that opportunity later. And so we are praying as a family, teaching our young children about Haiti, about hurting people, and about the power of prayer, and we are giving. We've been thinking of different organizations and ways to give and as I mentioned yesterday, we are Compassion supporters.

So, we have decided that in addition to what we already planned to give, that we will donate $1 (up to $200) for every person that comments on this post between now and Tuesday, January 19
to Compasion International. We do this, to raise awareness and to encourage and challenge others. Let's rally around the people of Haiti and give in whatever ways we can! Please help spread the word through blogging, facebook etc.! All you have to do is leave a comment - it doesn't take much time!

Here are some other links for Haiti Relief:

  1. I have been wondering what I could do to help, too. I will definitely check out your links. I certainly want to give to a credible source. I enjoy reading about your little boys. They remind me of my 6 grandsons. (Who knew grandkids would be so much fun!!) Your WV friend

  5. Thanks, Alaina. Isn't this just horrible? I felt so guilty last night putting our kids to bed - knowing they were safe, then getting into bed myself, thinking of all the nice things we have, and expect to have. I thought of all the people that are working around the clock saving lives. I am just praying, praying, praying.

  14. I can't stop thinking about it either. The devastation and the country that had so many problems already. I considered adopting from there and really looked into it seriously.

What a wonderful and caring idea. You are amazing.

    I've always loved Haiti!
"The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to release the oppressed, to proclaim the year of the Lord's favor."
I'm thinking of what Isaiah said the Messiah's ministry was all about.
So thankful Jesus is still doing all that through his children in Haiti. Praying for people to be literally freed from the bondage of buildings lying on them and for the Lord to free them from the bondage of sin and voodoo. Praying for love, comfort, healing and restoration.

  40. Commenting! :) We also made a donation to Compassion and will be looking for ways we can continue to donate in the coming months. Thanks for doing this and for posting other places where people can donate. It looks like it will take support from everyone to help Haiti through this tragedy, and it's heartwarming to see so many jumping on board.
