Sounds like a good plan to me. Andrew was telling me about a new retirement “village” being built here in Indianapolis. I told him that we would never buy there – when/if we retire, we will move someplace that is warm all year long. :) He agrees. One year in Florida spoiled us for life.
I admittedly like the occasional snow on Christmas and I do like winter clothes but that’s pretty much it. I’d rather turn down the air conditioning in my house to make it cold enough to wear sweaters. :)
Still, fall remains my favorite season even though it signals the impending doom we like to call winter. Bah Humbug!

Yeah I can't say I will miss it. Though we still wear sweaters down here. We just don't have to wear the heavy coats though.
Having just returned from a conference in Texas, I'm very sympathetic to cold weather bitterness.
My only comfort is that it was much, MUCH colder last year. Tiffany and I got engaged on Thanksgiving day, a year ago, and I ended up dragging her down to the Indy canal walk, on false pretenses, with a wind chill of something like -7ºF, just so I could slip a ring on her finger. Fortunately, she didn't take it too personally:)
Yeah, well, the hard part will be leaving your children and grandchildren who will likely live here in Indiana where you raised them. I already thought about this when I agreed to move to Indiana. Can you believe I still came? :)
There's just something about putting down roots ... it makes it harder to leave.
Amy, I had never thought of that. I guess we'll just have to take them with us! (Not sure how that will work... :) Thanks for ruining that plan!
Nah, we'll just winter someplace warm...have two homes. :) It's the best of both worlds!! :)
