I was so excited last week to be headed to Nashville but I couldn't tell you all because it was a surprise for Kim! Ann and I headed down to the festival and for Kim's baby shower - the shower was postponed for the best of reasons because as I mentioned, Kim and her family left for Russia to bring their daughter home instead. :) Gretchen graciously hosted us at their new place which has beautiful property. They are in the process of remodeling their home which is going to be gorgeous!
We went to the Southern Food & Wine Festival which was so much fun! We heard Alton speak and attended a Meet & Greet with him. I've already admitted my addiction to the Food Network so you can imagine how excited I was to for these events! :)
Listening to Alton Brown speak - excellent!
Me, Kim, Ann, & Gretchen - waiting to meet Alton!
We chatted with him for several minutes - a photographer took pictures with my camera while we were talking with him! He was so nice and helped Gretchen choose an awesome new stove!
He signed our posters (the posters were a bit underwhelming :)) with "Cook Smart."
All in all, a fantastic weekend with friends. It was so much fun going to the Food & Wine Festival (any foodie's dream, right?!). But really the best part was hanging out with these amazing ladies - it was so fun to get to know them better! Thanks, friends and thanks to Andrew for watching the kids this weekend so I could go!!!

Love that you ended it with his quote! You should put that on your food blog. I had so much fun with you all and am so happy you were able to come hang out. It was a great weekend. Start planning for next year!! maybe our whole families can come down. :)
I am stealing the pics to post on my blog. :) I am actually going to write a post!!
I love his quote also! I'll be stealing the pictures & yes..I'm SO glad they didn't go all out on the posters. :)
It was a wonderful weekend & I think we should plan on doing it next year too. :)
What a fun weekend and so glad you had some time away!
Sounds like a fabulous weekend and I know it meant so much to Kim to have some good sistas send her off! I love Alton Brown....so jealous! ;)
That is very cool (although I am probably the only person who watches Food Network who doesn't particularly care for Alton). I love that you got to talk to him and he helped someone you know! It is a great quote too.
Oh my goodness! Linking arms with Alton Brown? SO great! Looks like you had a fun time. :-)
It was the best weekend, ever! You ladies are the best.
How fun! I mentioned that you met Alton Brown and my husband and son just had to come over and see for themselves.
