Report

Last night went well overall, I was tired this morning, though. :) He was a little restless (due to sleeping so much during the day) but wasn't cranky. I am a light sleeper when kiddos are nearby so I was awake a lot! At 5, he decided it was definitely time to wake up. I stayed up with him and fed him until about 6 (and enjoyed the time) and then passed him off to Andrew while I rested for awhile. He has been more wakeful today and I took a nap this afternoon while he napped and hung out with Andrew. Not having to think about meals or housekeeping has been wonderful - we are able to focus on Ty.

Please contine to pray for things to work out. And please pray that our paperwork will be processed quickly and well and enable us to return home soon! Thank you all for your continued support and encouragement - you have no idea how much you have blessed us in the midst of difficulty and tremendous joy.

My grandma used to always say that when the baby had his days and nights switched, all you had to do was turn him upside down and then he'd be all to rights.
Maybe that's why my guys didn't sleep through the night for so long... I just didn't have the heart to hold a tiny baby upside down. :)

So glad things are going well! We'll continue to pray for everything to remain that way and paperwork, etc. to go smoothly.

I hope that you both are able to get ample rest during your time away. It's nice that you are both there 24/7 to give eachother a break. So glad to hear that he is doing well.

It sounds like things are going great! My only advice is "sleep when baby sleeps" and it sounds like you are doing that! Keep up the great job!

I am so like you, I can't sleep at all if I hear the baby making all those little "baby noises", I had to actually put ear plugs in if the baby was in my room, that way I couldn't hear the little things, but I could hear if she cried. Also, hubby was sleeping next to me without the ear plugs in and would hear if anything sounded odd.
I am praying for all your paperwork to get done and so you can bring your Ty home.

I am so excited for you. Ty is precious and I can't wait to meet him (someday). You are in my thoughts and prayers. I have passed along your blog to a couple of friends over here as well who are praying. One inparticular who has twice gone through the exact thing you are right now.

This might be a little early to try, but if the day/night switch continues as he gets older, our doctor recommended making sure he (she in our case) is in very brightly lit rooms during the day and in very dark rooms anytime he is sleeping. Also, it's amazing how tired babies get when stimulated - lots of noise, stuff going on, things to look at, etc. Our nurses told us that was one of the biggest mistakes new parents made was when the infant is really fussy at night, to try and make sure the room is very quiet. If you turn on the lights and stimulate him, he gets sensory overload and tends to fall asleep more quickly.

We're hoping everything works out for you quickly.
