Dinner Party

We hosted a fall dinner party on Saturday night for 4 of my siblings and their significant others. Despite the fact that it was like 90 degrees outside, it was a great success and I had a wonderful time planning it! Lately, the creativity bug has bitten and I'm enjoying it!

The Menu:

Appetizers: Brie w/pecans (baked in sourdough) w/fruit,bread cubes, and crackers & Roasted Red Pepper Humous w/pita

1st Course: Romaine Salad tossed w/balsamic vinaigrette and topped w/sauted pears & apples, and toasted walnuts

2nd course: Chili, Cornbread w/honey butter, Cucumber Onion Salad

3rd course (dessert): Pumpkin White Chocolate Cheesecake, Autumn Cheesecake, & Coffee

We used our good china with leaf napkins. I did a fall centerpiece using a smaller pumpkin we had picked from the patch, a variety of gourds, and some craft things that were 60% off at Jo-Ann Fabric. The place card/favors were inspired by fall cookie cutters I found at Target 4/$1. I filled the mini bags with chocolate (a favorite of my family :)), used tags I already had in my scrapbook stuff, & purchased the ribbon at 50% off. They were fun to put together and the boys loved helping to fill the sacks.

Are you going to post those recipes?

Sure! I'll try to get them posted later tonight at my recipe site. My personal favorites of the evening were the cheescakes. :)
